Charters Towers is a historical scenic gold mining city that boasts loads of character and historical buildings. From a chance discovery of gold in 1871, it is now often referred as ‘The Towers’ by locals. Charters Towers is located approximately 130km south west of Townsville North Queensland.

Locals and tourists can take advantage of the rich heritage of Charters Towers whilst also enjoying a diverse landscape of rugged mountainous rainforest areas in the north east to sandy desert plains in the south west.
